It is important to me to be aware of what is going on around me at all times. Part of being a good photojournalist and wedding photographer is to understand emotion. It helps that I am an emotional person, and what I see happen behind the lens is a result of where my heart goes to when a movement is made. In this image here, the bride is pinning a poppy on her uncle, in memory of her grandfather. They frame the picture, though the real story is who I am focusing on - the grandmother. You see, we only live once and in this moment, someone is not here to live it with the family. Emotions are high at every wedding for many different reasons. I find it rewarding as a photojournalist to capture these moments, and when I do, I know that I have served my clients well with truth to their wedding day story illustrating dynamic moments to surface the raw emotion of that day.
