Today was amazing.

From the beautiful couple (inside and out) I was able to photograph, to the breathtaking scenery at Viewpointe Estate Winery. It was one incredible wedding and I can't say enough about these two adoring people. I'm looking forward to sharing their day with you in the near future.

Every wedding there is a favourite moment of mine that I capture from a child. I love their innocent spirits and how they show just how they are feeling at any given part of the day. So many people ask me what my Love After sessions are, so I thought I'd blog about it. Traditionally, I market only my wedding photography here in Windsor and also to Southern Ontario. I've been asked many times to photograph families and children and although I set out to only accept wedding commissions, I find myself loving this diversity of shooting. Many of these clients are past wedding couples. It's amazing to see their love grow and this is where the Love After sessions started, meaning after the declaration of love (wedding). Under the Love After heading, you won't be able to find wedding photography, you'll find instead maternity, family and children photography that captures the emotion and truths to the characters I photograph.

Perfect. That's how I describe Marla and Tom. They are without a doubt meant to be together. The love that I witnessed between them yesterday made me smile many, many times. Her smile is amazing. His character so sweet. Together they bring something into the world that makes you look at life in a different way. I'm not sure exactly what it is. Maybe it's their warm nature, maybe it's Marla's smile or Tom's laugh. Whatever it was, I felt so energetic and happy leaving. I found myself wanting to see them again in the very near future. Lucky for me, I will.

Now, this is pretty unusual to have posted this many images for one wedding, but Toonny and Jeff's wedding was actually three parts over two days. An amazing outdoor ceremony on the Ganatio Trail, a powerful and sentimental Thai blessing the following day and one of the grandest receptions I have ever had the opportunity of documenting. One word to describe this photography experience....monumental. Thank you Toonny & Jeff.

Mandi and Spencer were married this past Saturday; again, one of the hottest days for photography! Luckily we found some open shade through the day at Mandi's Uncle's home, the location where they had a mini luncheon. He has an amazing piece of property and the family and guests relaxed on the picnic tables drinking iced tea, wine or their favourite cocktail while snacking on delicious home made sandwiches ... The perfect summer setting!

A Pirate Ride!

Yes, I brought my camera on the ride (crazy I know) and tried to forget about only holding on with one hand, the force of gravity pushing my camera away and into my face as we went back and forth, back and forth....the sheer fact that I was laughing so hard while doing this didn't make it easy to try and get this shot right (technically speaking)! I have to say that it was the most fun I've had while taking a shot! Thanks Denise & Mauro for the good times! Please enjoy the rest of their day below!

A few months ago I received an email from a young lady who was referred to me by a friend of mine (thank you Tracy). She told me that photography was extremely important to her and loves my style of work. She also told me that she is a past international model who knows a lot about photography! So when she asked me if I was able to photograph her wedding, I took it as a great compliment. Knowing that Amanda has worked with many photographers in her career, I was happy to be noticed by her artistic eye and excited to be given the opportunity to document her day. Something old hangs below, tied to her dress.....if you look closely you can see the hole in it from time wearing it out.

Amanda and Adam were married at Geraldo's in Burlington. It was a waterfront wedding and the property had a small beach where to my surprise had swans populating it. Working with the swans in the pictures was not an easy task! Let's just say I was in the restroom before dinner cleaning my shoes and feet. Regardless of the obstacles, getting the shot is what really matters :)

Congratulations Amanda & Adam! I loved all of your speeches at your reception - full of love and emotion :) Adam, you did an amazing job up there! I thank the both of you for a wonderful experience. All the best in happiness and marriage :)

Amber and Steve were married this past weekend at Sprucewood Winery. I congratulated them not only for their wedding but for picking one of the hottest, if not THE hottest day that I've ever photographed a wedding! The grounds are beautiful there and Sprucewood is one of my favourite places for wedding photography; no matter where you look you see an amazing shot.

Following the ceremony was the reception at the Ciociaro Club. We spent some time documenting the cool candy bar that was a hit and the StarWars cake! There's some history behind this cake and how they incorporated it into their wedding; Steve is a collector and his son just loves all the characters. That's him holding one of them at the ceremony as he walks his mom down the isle :)

It was a fantastic day and celebration!

Tiffany Falls; an amazing little hike to a waterfall just outside Hamilton. This is where we ventured off to photograph Daniela and Joe's engagement experience. Did you know Hamilton was the waterfall capital of the world?

Of course this was just one of the locations, many of my engagement sessions have two locations. I especially love when I hop in the car with my lovely couple to drive around and seek out awesome landscapes and unique finds, which is exactly what we did this past Sunday!

This is called Hermitage. Ruins from a great mansion built in 1865 that was destroyed in a fire in the 1930's. Standing there in the middle of a historic site, I was taken back to a different time. It's said to be haunted and Hamilton actually does a ghost walk of this - if you are interested in knowing why, click on the Hermitage link above.

I'm going to leave you with some behind the scenes snap shots of Daniela and Joe's e-session. It takes a lot of patience to get the shot right! While we were there, an Amish family hiked into the area we were trying to incorporate in the images. Here you can see the little girls playing, or expressing anger? I'm not too sure but they were throwing rocks at Daniela and Joe! lol! Good thing they were far enough out!

At a time just after that, this lady started throwing a stick into the water for her dog to go fetch! It was swimming into the composition of my image and then it brought the stick back and started shaking its wet fur all over me!

Thanks Daniela & Joe for waiting it out! It was a such a great day! Thank you again for the wine and the card, you two are super sweet! Oh, and thanks for the Band-Aid too!
